Smart U-value testing with Heat3D mobile app
Heat3D U-value measurement technology
The Heat3D iOS app uses Apple ARKit to detect room features such as walls, floors and ceilings and construct a 3D model. When combined with a FLIR portable camera, infrared thermal images are projected onto the 3D model showing the heat signature through each surface.
iOS Mobile App
Supports iPhone and iPad devices with an A10X or better processor.
Realistic 3D Model
The app uses Apple ARKit to detect room features such as walls, floors and ceilings.
Works with FLIR
Compatible with FLIR ONE range of thermal cameras for high-resolution imaging.
Bluetooth Sensors
Integrated Bluetooth temperature sensor provides accurate internal temperature readings.
PID Temperature Control
Ambient temperature is strictly controlled using a PID heating controller connected to a convector heater.
Secure Cloud Storage
Surveys are uploaded securely to the cloud using a WiFi or data connection for reporting and data analysis.
Heat3D result metrics and thermal properties
A Heat3D survey takes 60 minutes to perform taking infrared images every minute to create a time-lapse of thermal transmittance. An average U-value over the entire measurement period is then calculated which provides an accurate representation of the wall's actual U-value.
- Heat flux density, Q (W/m²)
- Heat flux measurements for every 50x50cm square of wall or average heat transfer for entire area.
- U-value (W/m²K)
- U-value measurements for every 50x50cm square of wall or average U-value for entire area.
