HEAT3D Quick Start Guide

A quick guide to how to set up the HEAT3D equipment and operate the app for U-value measurements.

General Questions

The Heat3D mobile app requires an iPhone or iPad with an A10X or better processor and a Lightning port. These devices will have Apple ARKit and sufficient processing power to conduct U-value surveys.

Thermography can be a great tool to spot areas with higher heat loss but it doesn't quantify just how much heat loss there is, HEAT3D quantifies the amount of heat loss and the U-value of the element.

Results can be viewed in the app or on the website interface. The app is great for investigating differences in the performance across a surface or giving a visual feel for the heat loss. The website provides certificates demonstrating the U-value of the timelapse zone which can be shared with your customer.

Using the Heat3D App

No. The 3D model of the room is used to roughly position the IR images relative to element surfaces but small differences won't make a significant impact on the accuracy of the results.

During a timelapse survey the room should be vacated so that the measurement can take place undisturbed by heat gains from people. To remotely view the progress of a timelapse survey
